To all my readers in the U.S., Happy Thanksgiving!  There is so much to be thankful for this year.  Be sure to stop and take a moment to celebrate all that's happened this year, all that you have, your friends, family, etc.

I hate that Christmas and the winter holiday season is starting so abruptly this year.  Do we really need to have stores open up at 8:00 pm on Thanksgiving night?  Or 3:00 am on Friday?  All to buy plastic crap made in China?  Yuck.  The whole "Black Friday" thing is so gross.  I will not be participating.

However, this is ONE shopping trend that's emerged lately that's actually positive: Small Business Saturday.  If you're really feeling the need to spend money, consider supporting smaller shops, those owned by real people....not mega-corporations like evil, nasty Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart already has enough it really worth the "cheap" prices you're paying for chemical-filled shampoo when a huge chunk of your tax money goes to help subsidies their employees because they're not willing to pay a living wage?  Sorry...I'll get off my soapbox now.

Anyway. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
