Holiday Recovery

Christmas has come and gone and I got some good stuff from my Santa! I'll be telling you all about some great products in upcoming posts, but for now I just wanted to check in and let you all know that I survived the festivities and am trying to get back into the swing of things.

The New Year is heading our way and to start off 2008 I am going to try out a five day "Feel The Difference Detox Plan" from Boots to cleanse my body of all the junk I've put in it during the holiday season. The plan looks easy enough--each day I just add some strawberry detox liquid to a quart of water and drink it throughout the day. The detox plan is supposed to leave me feeling revitalized and looking amazing. We'll see how it goes! I'll post back once I am done with the plan and will tell you how it all worked out.

In the meantime, let me know what your favorite Christmas gift this year was. Leave me a comment!

Glad you had a good xmas! I got the best gift from my boyfriend--an engagement ring! so exciting! you'll have to do something about wedding makeup for us brides to be.

My favorite gift this year was a nice big check from my parents. It will so help pay for my books at college. How lame is that? I did get some makeup from MAC so I guess that makes up for it!

congrats on making it through the holidays! looks like my own holiday hosting madness is finally coming to an end.

best gift i got - aside from getting to spend time with some of my favorite people on earth - was received just last night: a super duper generous gift card to sephora! took me all of 10 minutes online to spend the entire amount + more.

i stocked up on my new favorites, bare escentuals prime time foundation primer & ddf's ultra-lite oil free moisturizing dew (both worth their weight in gold). and filled the rest of my basket with more bare escentuals goodies, like the true all-over face color, the 7-piece get started eyes kit & the 9-piece pure moxie kit.

i will be swimming in bare escentuals products all through '08. woohoo!!

Josie: congrats on the engagement. When's the big day? I just might have to do a post for you on wedding prep--great idea!

Anon: Money is always a great gift, but glad to hear you got some MAC goodies--always fun stuff.

Filth: There's nothing better than a Sephora gift card. Funny how you always manage to overspend the amount. Hmmm....I think that's why stores like selling gift cards so much. You can never have enough Bare Escentuals stuff-their products are amazing. Have fun when your boxes come in. I had 3 huge Sephora boxes waiting under the tree this year. Nothing better than seeing those beautiful black and white boxes!! No gift wrap required!

That detox sounds interesting...make sure to keep us updated!
The best gift I got would definitely have to be a really nice perfume. I never go out and buy that sort of thing for myself, so it was a nice surprise.

And I know this blog is mainly about makeup, but I have a question about fashion for everyone. I got a pair of Ugg Boots for Christmas--the classic kind. You know, tall, sand-colored, etc. I really don't want to return them, and they're SO comfy! Do you guys think people will be trying to rip them off my feet in Seattle because I'm creating such a horrible fashion faux pas?

Hey, I like it the Seattle area and I see Uggs everywhere. I don't like them, but I totally get the need for comfort! I think you can get away with them, just be mindful of where you're wearing them. If you're going out on the town, ditch 'em. But when you're running It's ok. I totally shouldn't talk though because I have a pair of revoltingly hideous cros....they're soooooo comfy but so ugly. What can't we have comfort AND cuteness at the same time? It's just not fair.
