It's Never Too Early

Retailers all over the mall are reminding us that the holiday season starts as soon as Halloween ends, and that NOW is the time to start your frenzied shopping. Here are some enticements:
  • Sephora is currently offering free shipping on orders over $75, free gift packaging, and three free samples when you place your order online. To make giving even easier, you can set up a registry and email your wish list to your friends. While this may seem a little self-indulgent, it’s a great way to make sure you get exactly what you want.
  • Clinique’s website advertises free shipping and showcases some really nifty sets that make for great gifts at all sorts of different prices. I’m lusting over their online exclusive Black Honey lip set for $41.00.
  • Ulta is offering a huge holiday color collection that includes 18 Lip Colors, 4 Lip Glosses, 33 Eyeshadows, 4 Cheek Colors, 2 Shimmer Powders, 4 Nail Lacquers, 1 Concealer, Lip Pencils, Brow Pencils, Eye Pencils, Brushes, and Applicators all in a suede train case for the amazing price of $24.99. What? They couldn’t shove a partridge in a pear tree in there for good measure?
All the major cosmetics companies are now debuting special gift sets and holiday palettes to tempt crazed holiday shoppers. Check out Lancome, Chanel, Too Faced, and MAC to name a few. They are all showcasing some seriously pretty lines. And, to help you find the right gifts (or ask for the right gifts!), I'll be showcasing some great make-up deals for the holidays each week between now and Christmas.

Now, go out there and get shopping!

In regards to the Ulta Holiday Collection.....Isnt it generally true that makeup that comes in such a huge package and for such an inexpensive price, is generally not great quality?

Yes, you are right. There is a trade off of quality vs. quantity. But sometimes you need to get someone a gift and price is more a factor. You know how it is.

But, I will say that buying something like the Ulta kit can give you the chance to experiment with colors you'd never consider trying, especially if you were uneasy with forking over big bucks to try out the latest fad.

So, yes...the quality won't be great, but it's still fun to have a kit of a thousand colors!
