Remnants of Nail Polish

It's a sad fact: dark colored nail polish is a mess.

After being on a few days it chips. The only ways to hide your nails' worn appearance are to wear gloves, repaint them, or embrace the punk look.

When time comes to take the polish off, you end up going through dozens of cotton balls and you still end up with little lines of color in the corners of the nails. Grrr! To top it off, it seems like dark polishes stain your nails whether you use a base coat or not. Before going for a dark color, you have to ask yourself: is it really worth having yellow stained nails once the color goes away? Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes it's a flat-out no.

I just removed my once beautiful Smok'n Havana and now my nails look yucky (yes, that is a technical term). This week I need to lay off the sultry reds and opt for a restorative clear coat of polish. Not exactly pretty, but needed. Oh, the price of beauty!
